Kidsquest is a place where kids can come to know Christ and learn how to make His love visible. We have a desire to partner with families and help children take small steps closer to Christ. God says to the Israelite parents in Deuteronomy 6:
“Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.”
We want you to know that we will provide a safe and fun environment for your children. We offer programming for children, who are 3 months old up to 6th grade, at the 9:00 and 10:30 services. You, the parent, can choose how to begin the morning.
At 9:00 or 10:30- Feel free to bring your child with you to service. There, they will sit with you for about 15 minutes. They will then be dismissed to the programs downstairs. Twice a month we will have a children’s sermon for them in the sanctuary.
Or maybe you would like them to begin downstairs. We will have “opening time” from 8:55-9:20 and from 10:25-10:45. We will sing, pray and worship in a kid friendly manner. Our programs run from …..
9:00
8:55-9:20 Opening Time
9:20-10:00 Age appropriate program
10:00-10:10 Closing
10:30
10:25-10:45 Opening Time
10:45-11:30 Age appropriate program
11:30-11:40 Closing
Opening and closing are in the blue room Off of Fellowship Hall .
We provide programs at each service for …
Nursery
3 months-3years
Praise & Play
Ages 3 and 4
K-5
Age 5 and Kindergarten
Connect 1234
Grades 1 and 2 Grades 3 and 4
Club 56
Grades 5 and 6
As you can see, we structure our program in case service goes a few minutes late. If you need to leave on time, we can dismiss your children to you. If you can stay- have a cup of coffee and meet some new friends for the 10 minutes after service ends. But PLEASE, pick up your children at 10:10 or 11:40.
Children in Club 56 are free to go upstairs alone after class, and do not need to be picked up by a parent. Children grade 4 and younger must be picked up by an adult.
WOW! That is a lot of programs. As you can imagine, this can’t take place without a team of volunteers. Bethany Covenant Church members are needed to serve in a ministry if their children are part of our programs.
We also want to offer Family Experiences, where we can help you lead your child closer to Christ at home. There are 4 ways in Deuteronomy where we see how to bring Christ’s love to life at home…
“Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.”
Only parents are with children
When they wake up
When they eat
When they travel
When they go to sleep
Think about this: The church gets roughly 40 hours a year to teach your children about loving God and loving people. The average family, even with tons of activities mixed in to an already busy schedule, gets roughly 3,000 hours per year of unstructured time!
This is why we want to partner with families and learn about loving God and loving people.
Each Family Experience (FX) this year will provide your family with fun things to do at home to bring your child closer to Christ.
May the peace of God surround your family this fall!
